ROLFING
Rolfing is a method of structural bodywork and movement therapy designed to balance and organizes the whole body by softening, lengthening, and restricting tissues in the body. Practitioners are known as rolfers and work primarily with the myofascial system, the fibrous membrane that covers, supports, and separates the muscle. In healthy tissue, the myofascia is both fluent and free moving. However, physical trauma or poor posture shortens and twists the system. This is a bodywork modality that’s therapeutic and restorative. Many clients report it is also energizing. Rolfers are trained in the biological sciences, and assist the client to focus on his or her needs.
