SHEN
Shen is most commonly translated as spirit. To best describe Shen,
we should consider its function in
relation to the other substances. Think of it this way: Jing is the source of
life, Qi the force that activates and
provides motion, and Shen is the energy serving Jing and Qi. Shen also governs
human personality and the
mind. A common saying in Chinese medicine is: Shen is the awareness that
shines out of our eyes when we
are truly awake. In Shen it is believed that the biofield is an inherent
component of all living beings. Shen
has shown that working directly With the core of the body is usually far more
potent. Shen flows are
designed to pass through the emotional core of the body in patterns that will
release trapped, painful emotion.
Shen is very effective with emotional empowerment and relieving disabling physio-emotional
conditions.
In Shen it is believed that problems in the body are reflected into the aura
and that the best place to
work with them is in the body. Shen is a series of non-invasive touch relaxation
procedures which when
applied helps to release trapped painful emotions directly from the body. When
tensions are dissolved, their
effect on the local body region inside them also ends, the glands and organs
in that region become free to
function normally. As these tensions cease, quite dramatic reductions in chronic
pain and other primary
symptoms often occur.
