SHIATSU
A Japanese healing art deeply rooted in the philosophy and practices of Chinese medicine. It focuses on the healing power of practitioner and client. In Japanese, “shi” means finger, and “atsu” means pressure. The practitioner will use a combination of pressing, hooking, sweeping, shaking, rotating, lifting, and rolling, to allow the “qi” (lifeforce) to flow through the meridian pathways. No needles, creams, or machines are ever used. Continual diagnosis is part of the treatment. The overall effect of this type of bodywork is a strengthened immune system. It can also be used as part of preventative healthcare.
